The Tempus medieval in its particular scan, will lead the traveler who will come to Narni, for the next three years, through its many facets, the discovery of a world almost forgotten. The year 2012 will be the "Time of the Church"

In the town of Narni is held every year between the last week of April and the second Sunday of May , the evocation of an ancient tradition that originated in the fourteenth century: The Corsa all'Anelo.

The Festival will present the key moments in which, at the time, every young Narni owner of a horse was called to the test preparation to be able to test the "military" for a possible defense of the city.

Today, the festival offers a rich calendar of events, in a series of colorful and lively evocative moments.

Among the highlights:

- First weekend in reading "banno" in which the knights of the country are mentioned in the tender, the offering of candles by the municipal authorities in the cathedral, the night parade that reaches to visit the grave of St. Juvenal, first bishop of the city.

- In the second weekend of celebration, the first weekend in May, the Race of the Ring also coincides with the feast of the patron, for which there is a procession in honor of St. Juvenal, Mass in the Cathedral and In the afternoon the old Corsa ring. The race is in the "Platea Major", Piazza dei Priori, and the knights is to gallop, bearing a long pole, trying to pierce the silver ring that hangs suspended between two ropes.

- The third weekend of celebration, the second weekend in May, takes place along the city streets, the parade with 600 costumed characters representing the ancient municipal magistrates, the guilds, nobles and knights the magnificent city of Narni. The Race of the Ring is returned to the Sunday, this time competing only three neighborhoods historic Mezule, Fraporta and Santa Maria, which compete with the "field of these games," the current stadium St. Jerome, in a contest of skill and speed.

Walking in the city these days of festivities is very nice, seems to have stepped back in time, all in costumes reminiscent of the medieval period, the scents, sounds and colors, as well as the stone in the construction of Narni, alleys and squares.

Already in the first day of the festival are open to ancient taverns where the visitor can enjoy cake, wine and food of ancient Umbrian tradition. The event certainly offers the opportunity for a pleasant ride and curious in a land rich in history and traditions.

Complimenti, anche se non ho potuto partecipare a molte manifestazioni in programma, ho ammirato il coinvolgimento attivo dei più giovani e il clima di collaborazione, ciò che vi permetterà di non perdere le vostre tradizioni. Unica nota stonata, quella mostra d'arte contemporanea in S. Domenico, forse decontestualizzata, e soprattutto il fatto che in una chiesa che mi dicono essere ancora consacrata sorga un bar! Questa, comunque, è un'altra storia... BRAVISSIMI!

Peccato che negli ultimi anni abbia preso una piega sempre più commerciiale e sempre più lontana dalla rievocazione storica, ormai è diventato un mercatino dell'artigianato :( l'ultima volta che ci sono stato c'era un tipo che preparava il "croccante" con la betoniera!!!!!

La festa legata alla Corsa all'Anello è per noi un appuntamento fisso ogni anno! L'abbiamo conosciuta per caso e ci siamo innamorati di Narni, bellissimo borgo medievale, delle sue tradizioni, della sua gente scherzosa e accogliente! Ogni particolare delle ambientazioni è curatissimo, i vestiti sono stupendi e cuciti dalle sartorie in maniera impeccabile sui modelli del medioevo, ma con sapienti tocchi di originalità! Le taverne sono dei luoghi di profumi, convivialità e sapori che non si dimenticano. Ci sono mille motivi per tornarci...

Trovo che sia un'evento memorabile..l'aria magica, che si respira rimanda ad antiche tradizioni e lontani sapori...sembra di essere catapultati, varcata la porta realmente nel medioevo...è un'emozone ed una sensazione bellissima!! Merita sicuramentedi essere vista e vissuta sulla propria pelle!!!
