Sagra della ricotta e del formaggio, Vizzini

The scents of Sicilian cuisine spread through the city of Vizzini in a party with the Festival and Ricotta Cheese. An ancient event and followed by a wider audience, which are the framework folkloristic events, shows, entertainment, and where traditional farming offers the best products.

Vizzini, the home of Giovanni Verga, is back with its products in more than thirty editions of the festival have won over the palates of many guests. Today there are three days in which you can sample the culinary excellence of the territory, in particular the cheeses in the short, medium and long curing and, above all, fresh ricotta, known beyond the borders of Sicily.

The appointment is in Piazza Marconi at the bar and food stands with dairy products. Then, during the three days of celebrations, parades and folklore flood the streets: flag bearers and musicians, Sicilian carts and groups in traditional costume.

Course is held in honor of its most famous citizen, dutifully linked to a calendar theatrical works of Verga.

To all this, and for the duration of the festival, scheduled cultural events and tours in churches and museums that are open to visitors all day.
